Original Oil Paintings

I started this painting after reading a book about the Antarctica. When Ice is very compressed the only light not absorbed is the blue light that is reflected back. In this case I used a little red in the sky to help set up the contrast. The Ice however was strictly blue and white. The result was a painting that has a very calming effect on the viewer.
